New Hyde Park Soccer Shooters vs. Kitty Kats
The Soccer Shooters played an outstanding game of soccer on this very cool, windy Mother’s Day! Each & every player displayed their best out on the field today from great passing, long throw-Ins & goal kicks to the open player. It was a high level game of soccer.
Marina Pappas & Madeline Slaski on the offense passing back & forth, taking great shots on goal with Marina Pappas opening up the game with the first goal. Terrific mid-field play by Rhiannon Chieffo getting in front of the opponent, staying close to her & clearing the ball up the field. Sabrina Rodrigues playing very aggressively breaking up potential runs by the Kitty Kats. Joanna Mauceri, Marcela Curcio & Alexandra Gootman staying strong defensively, controlling the ball, dribbling up the field & then making the vital pass. On goal for the first half was Irene Krische communicating with her teammates that she has possession of the ball, then punting the ball to mid-line where Marina Pappas receives control sends a beautiful pass to Madeline Slaski on the side & shoots a low ball in the corner. Great Teamwork! Soccer Shooters in control with Daniela O’Modie receiving a great pass from Marina Pappas, goes around the defender, dribbles & sends a beautiful kick near the post. Great Passing! With position changes beginning the second half, in goal Alexandra Gootman displaying her talent, running to meet the ball & throwing the ball out quickly. The Soccer Shooters displayed a great second half of play, as Joanna Mauceri on defense takes possession of the ball, has open ground, dribbles down the field, out & wide then turns towards goal & nets a fantastic goal to the open spot. Great Goal Joanna! Soccer Shooters were hot as Marina Pappas playing outstanding all around, receives a nice pass from Daniela O’Modie, moves in toward goal & blasts a shot in goal. Kitty Kats stayed tough, as Sabrina Rodriques beats the opponent to the ball, passes up to Rhiannon Chieffo who had two opponents marking her, sends a nice pass to Marina Pappas for her hat trick in the game.
