Robert Dahringer Sr., lifelong resident of Locust Valley, died on June 15, 2010 at age 75. Husband of Doris “Dolly.” Father of Sandra Bucher (Philip), Robert Jr. (Donna) and Christine Tarantino (George). Grandfather of Jessica and Victoria Bucher, Thomas and Travis Dahringer, Emily and Lucy Tarantino. Brother of Lucille, Nancy Moran (James) and the late Peter. Longtime friend of Bill W. He was a member of the Locust Valley Fire Dept. for over 56 years, ex-captain of Hook & Ladder Co. #1, member of the No. Shore Fire Council, charter member of both the LVFD Fire Police Squad and Locust Valley Exempts, past president of Mill River Rod & Gun Club, member of LI Antique Power Association and dedicated ER volunteer at NSUH Glen Cove. Arrangements were made by the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. Firematic Service held at the funeral home. Funeral service at Locust Valley Reformed Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.
