OBHS Class of 1975 to Hold Reunion

Every year someone, somewhere will have a class reunion. This year it’s time for Oyster Bay High School’s Class of 1975 to hold its 35th! “Everyone had such a great time at the 30th, they didn’t want to wait for the 40th,” said John Bruckner, Jr. one of the organizers. He worked with the committee on their 10th, 20th and 30th reunions.

Mr. Bruckner is not only an OBHS graduate but he is the fencing coach, a job at which he excels. You can tell by the fine record the fencing teams have achieved.

The reunion will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Homestead Restaurant from 7 to 11 p.m. There will be a $45 admission to cover dinner and there will be a cash bar, ($55 at the door). The class is also sponsoring an “ice-breaker” the night before at the Homestead starting at 8 p.m.

“We are still missing some of our alumni. If you are a brother, sister or a parent of one of our fellow students, please contact them with this information. To confirm your reply, you can send your check to Class of 1975 Reunion, 155 East Main Street, Oyster Bay, New York 11771. For further information or to say hello, members of the committee can be found on Facebook and Classmates.com,” said Mr. Bruckner.

While some stories published in this week’s issue of the Enterprise Pilot will go on the Internet, a notice such as this would not. Therefore in the interests of the Class of 1975, and all the good feelings it will engender, we are putting the notice in our editorial which does appear on the Internet weekly.

It is truly wonderful to see how people continue to fondly remember their days at Oyster Bay High School. And, we are sure those who have moved away and return for the event, will be thrilled to see how the school has been enlarged and improved.

We hope to get some photographs of the event to share with readers.

Oyster Bay still remains a small town, even thought it is only a short drive away from New York City.
