Garden City Coach Honored With Rising Star Award

Garden City Varsity Girls’ Track and Field Coach Erica Fregosi, pictured with Board of Education Trustee Angela Heineman and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert Feirsen, was named as the NSSF 2010 Rising Star Coach of the Year. Herself an All-State pentathlete and five-year letter winner in indoor and outdoor track while at Massapequa High School, Erica went on to be a three-year letter winner at Lehigh University, and was a Patriot League medalist in the high jump. Erica began coaching in Garden City in 2003 and has led her teams to six conference titles, four county titles, and two state championships. Congratulations to Coach Erica Fregosi for her recent award and her outstanding leadership and tutelage of Garden City’s Varsity Girls’ Track and Field Team.
