Colleen Bagan Knows Oyster Bay
Colleen Bagan of the Village Gourmet Deli identified the mystery picture in the Oct. 7 issue of the Enterprise Pilot’s column, on how well do you know the area. She said, “It’s the Atlantic Steamer Fire Department on 9/11 at the Western Waterfront Memorial. The firefighters are: Chick Maiorana, Vinnie Aquilino, Mike Fitzgerald, Bob Walles and Frank Ozol.
Wow, that is a great identificiation!
Billy Minicozzi noted they were firemen marching down by the train station. He added that Roy Halliday in the play off, was the first person to throw a no hitter at a play off game since Don Larsen 1956.
Jadranka Bukicevic of Active Motion called to identify the photograph in the Sept. 30 issue of the Enterprise Pilot. “It’s an old boat in TR Park. It is a view from the train, going into New York City. In the background is the sea,” she said correctly.
