Obituary: Carmen J. Melillo

Carmen J. Melillo, 84, lifelong resident of Oyster Bay, died on Nov. 11, 2010. Husband of the late Celia. Father of George Melillo (Rose) and Carmen Jean Melillo. Grandfather of Nicholas James and Joseph Allan. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was the oldest living member of the Italian Mutual Aid Society of Oyster Bay, founder of Oyster Bay Clam Bar, past commander of American Legion Quentin Roosevelt Post #4 and a devoted WWII veteran and Purple Heart recipient. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Kevin Smith, Pastor of St. Dominic’s RC Church officiating. Interment at Locust Valley Cemetery.
