Obituary: Phyllis G. Salerno

Phyllis G. Salerno (nee Gentilcore), 88, a longtime resident of Oyster Bay, died peacefully on Nov. 23, 2010. Wife of the late Nicholas J. Mother of Robert J. (Karen), Kenneth J. (Patricia) and the late David P. (Annette). Grandmother of Lauren Kaplinski (Andrew), Gwen (J.T.), Trisha, Jacqueline, Thomas, Nicholas, Victoria and Alexandra. Great-grandmother of Severina. Sister of Jackie Gugliano, James Gentilcore (Eileen) and the late Carmella Iannicello. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was a devoted member of The Italian American Citizen’s Club of Oyster Bay Ladies Auxillary. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic’s RC Chapel.
