Katherine Whelan, a lifelong resident of Oyster Bay, died on April 6, 2011. Wife of Jim Whelan (they celebrated 70 years of marriage on Dec.14, 2010). Mother of James (Bonnie), Thomas (Karen) and Cecelia (Bill) Wilkinson. Grandmother of nine. Great-grandmother of eight. Sister of Malverne (Pat) Harpell. Arrangements were made by the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home, Oyster Bay. Funeral Mass at the Chapel of St. Dominic’s RC church. Interment private.
