Ballpark proposals are very common, but what happened last week in Milwaukee might top all the rest.

On Friday night, a Milwaukee Brewers fans decided to bring a poster to the ballpark asking star outfielder, Ryan Braun, to marry her. The fan, however, took it one step further by writing her cell phone number on the poster.

What ensued were hundreds of phone calls, and over 600 text messages, making her a celebrity for a weekend. And Braun, who just signed a $105 million contract, was actually one of those callers.

Unfortunately for the love struck fan, her voicemail was full and Braun couldn’t get through to answer her proposal.

“I thought it was a good idea at the time,” the fan said in an interview with Fox Sports. She said she shut off the phone after being bombarded with phone calls, and would turn the phone back on Tuesday.

“I guess it wasn’t meant to be,” Braun reportedly said after he was unable to reach the fan.
