 America’s Poets Walk With Walt

The program, which will be held at the birthplace of America’s Good Gray Poet at 246 Old Walt Whitman Rd., Huntington Station, will be hosted by Whitman Birthplace Writer in Residence George Wallace. The program will pair a nationally prominent visiting writer with one of Long Island’s fine regional poets for a program of poetry and conversation. Individual tickets to the series will be on sale in advance, or at the door, for $15 per ticket or $70 for the full series. Temple Beth Elohim, 926 Round Swamp Rd., Old Bethpage, is holding a Pet Blessing from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Pets must be on a leash or crated at all times Temple Beth Elohim is not responsible for the action of outside pets. Pets must be under control at all times (caged or leashed appropriately). Pets must be current on vaccinations, be sociable with other animals, adults and children.  Track and Field Day Event

The Plainview-Old Bethpage SEPTA and Athletic Booster Club announce their Fourth Annual SEPTA/Booster Community Track and Field Day. This special free event for SEPTA’s families features field events organized by the POBJFKHS Varsity Track coaches and athletes. SEPTA families with school aged children grades K-12 are invited to enjoy a day of relays, challenges, skills training, T-shirts and medals for all participating children and a spectacular Booster Club Bar-B-Que. Parents are invited to meet, mingle and enjoy.
