If you live and breathe golf, please mark your calendar! The Boys & Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich is planning its 2011 President’s Cup Golf Tournament to be held on Monday, May 23 at the Pine Hollow Country Club, in East Norwich. An exciting day of competition, games and prizes is being planned, including a 2011 Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 for the Hole-in-One winner. This annual fundraising event benefits the youngsters of the Oyster Bay-East Norwich community in ensuring the continuation and expansion of the Club’s programs and activities.
Golf Co-Chairs, Tom Golon and Bill Quinn, and their dedicated committee members, are busy planning for an exciting day. The full day of events begins at 10:30 a.m. with registration, a breakfast buffet, time allotted on the practice range, and tee off at noon. The day’s activities will end with cocktails and a buffet dinner, during which awards will be presented in the following areas: individual low-gross for men and women, individual low-net for men and women, low-gross team, low-net team, men’s scramble, open scramble for women and mixed teams, longest drive most accurate drive, and closest to the pin. Participants can also take part in the putting contest as well as a sports trivia contest.
Back by popular demand will be the Big Blue Raffle! Tickets may be purchased prior to the event by contacting the Boys & Girls Club, or at the actual event. The price is $75 which entitles the purchaser to 75 entries into the raffle, or three Big Blue Raffle tickets for $200!
Sponsorship opportunities are available for both players and non-players. The cost for a single golfer is $400, and reservations can be made for only the cocktail party and buffet dinner at a cost of $150.
