Miniature Golf at Community Park

The Community Park Miniature Golf Course is now open.

If you are planning a birthday party, a group outing or just looking to get together with family, friends or coworkers, why not miniature golf at Community Park. We have a new state of the art golf course with twists and turns to excite players of all ages! We offer a beautiful setting with a shaded picnic area, a playground and a snack bar. But most of all, it is a reasonably-priced, full of fun outing that is enjoyed by everyone. So come on over and let the games begin!

We are now booking parties for the 2011 season.

 Spring/Summer Adult Tennis Lessons Registration Begins

The Garden City Recreation Department will conduct evening tennis lessons for adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City at the Community Park Tennis Facility. The lessons will run for one hour each week in three sessions during the spring/summer months. The registrant has a choice of a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday class and a choice of time. There will be a maximum of four players per court. The dates and fees will be as follows:

Session 1 – 6 weeks beginning May 2 Cost: $150

Session 2 – 4 weeks beginning July 5 Cost: $100

Session 3 – 4 weeks beginning Aug. 2 Cost: $100

To register, visit the Recreation’s Administrative Offices at 108 Rockaway Ave. Separate checks for each session please.

Pool Applications Have Been Mailed

The 2011 Garden City Pool applications have been mailed.  If you did not receive one, you can go to Gardencityrecreation.org and get all the pool information and download the 2011 membership application and the 2011 swim lesson registration form or visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Ave. Don’t delay, get your application in to guarantee your membership for another season of “Fun in the Sun!”

Summer Camp Brochures Are Out and Registration Has Begun!

The 2011 Summer Camp Brochure is now available, listing a wide variety of activities and sport camps for ages 3–16. Registration has begun, by mail only, for all camps.  If you do not receive one in your child’s backpack, visit the recreation website at www.gardencityrecreation.org or visit the office at 108 Rockaway Ave to pick one up. There are too many offerings to list, so don’t miss out and register early.

Over 35 Men’s Softball League Packets Are Now Available

Registration packets are available for joining the Recreation Department’s Over 35 Men’s Softball League. This league is played on Sunday evenings beginning late May and continuing throughout the summer. Players must be 35 years old or older by the start of the league and residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. To pick up a packet, visit our office at 108 Rockaway Ave.

Want to Play Some Softball?

If you are a resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City, age 18 or over, who would like to play softball in one of the Recreation Department’s softball leagues. Call the Recreation Office at 465-4075 to put your name on the “player list.” There are sometimes coaches who call looking for extra players to round out their rosters. Call and leave your name, age, address, and phone number and we will keep your name on file for the team who is looking for extra players.
