It’s time for another Long Island Press Top 10 Tuesday.

This week we are taking a look at the Top 10 historic spots on Long Island that are worth visiting. Long Island has a rich history and much of this history is often forgotten and overlooked by Long Islanders. Today we take a look back in time and remember the people and places that made Long Island what it is today. Whether it’s an ex-presidents vacation home or a spy trail traveled by George Washington the history is rich and exciting.

Here are the Top 10 historic places

Although the list of notorious historic locations on Long Island is quite lengthy with numerous equally interesting locations, the locations chosen for this list also offer great daytime getaways. The majority of the locations chosen either offer guided tours or offer a culturally enriching experience through other means.
