Casino Royale gained literary notoriety in 1953 when the novel introduced the world to James Bond. On Saturday evening, March 31 at 7 p.m. at 926 Round Swamp Road, Old Bethpage, Temple Beth Elohim is creating a modern day Casino Royale fundraiser that will include casino tables, blackjack, roulette, craps, slot machines and Texas Hold’em. In addition to the colorful casino ambience there will be a silent auction including wonderful vacation packages, sports tickets and goods and services from around the community and beyond.
The evening will be highlighted with raffles, appetizers, desserts, and music.
The public is invited to enjoy this wonderful evening. Admission is $30 per person. To start the ball rolling each admission will receive $1000 in Temple Beth Elohim scrip. Additional scrip will be available for purchase. A “Jackpot” auction using the scrip will cap off the evening fun.
Temple Beth Elohim’s enthusiastic president, Dan Naftol, anticipates the evening to be, “like going to Las Vegas, but without the hassles of the airport.”
Cantor Richard Pilatsky has been the musical inspiration at Temple Beth Elohim since 1999. His Adult Choir enhances Shabbat and Holiday services with some of the great choral masterpieces, which define the Reform Movement. Cantor Pilatsky is proud that “Temple Beth Elohim is in the forefront of new programming, whether from an educational, spiritual, or communal point of view,” he said. “The Casino Royale Night is another example of our efforts to serve, not only our own congregants, but the entire community as well.
