Performance earned UConn team points at championships
University of Connecticut junior Danielle Cecco (Hicksville) finished in 14th place in the three-meter diving event on Friday at the NCAA Championships at Auburn University in Alabama.
Cecco scored a 303.75 in the preliminaries to earn her way into the “B” finals. She then came back with a 308.60 in the finals to give UConn three points in the team standings.
The performance at the NCAAs concludes a terrific season for Cecco as she was named the Big East Diver of the Year and was the three-meter champion at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships for the second-consecutive year.
Cecco also finished in 28th place in the one-meter event at the NCAAs on Thursday with a score of 268.10 points.
