Will Smith recently appeared on The Graham Norton Show where he preformed the classic “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” theme song.

The video has now gone viral on YouTube with almost 1.5 million views.

“You have this phenomenal film career but Fresh Prince doesn’t go away,” the host joked with him.

Smith took it gracefully. “Every country in the world, that is the that thing I am most known for,” he replied. “No matter how big the movies get, it’s ‘Fresh Prince’ everywhere.”

“Does that bug you?” the BBC host asked.

Smith playfully responded, “Listen man, as long as they’re screaming Will, I’m cool.”

He then went on to share a quick story about why they chose to use his actual name for the character on the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

“Alfonzo pulled me aside and said, ‘Man let me tell you something. Whatever your character’s name is people are gonna  call you that for the rest of your life. Make your character’s name Will Smith.'”

“And he was so right. When we go out together people are like, ‘Will, Will, Carlton!'”

The host then surprised Will by whipping out an old school white keyboard and started to play the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” theme song.

The host coaxed the audience to begin singing the lyrics, and naturally everyone knows them, before Smith ultimately joins in to the singalong.

The entire time Smith is laughing and joking — it’s likely been a long time since he has sang that song in public.

After the song is over Smith noted how being on television is completely different than a movie or music.

“There’s something about television,” he said. “Television really attaches you to people in a way that is extremely powerful and it’s humbling, thank you.”
