Obituary: James R. Forbes

James R. Forbes, 86, of Bethpage, passed away July 12, 2012. Retired Tug Boat Captain, I.O.U.E. #25, Marine Division. Former longtime Bethpage Community swim coach and assistant diving coach for Plainview High School. Master All-American 1970s swimming champion and former president of the Metro Masters Swim Club. Husband of 63 years to Mary. Father of Virginia Lee Fish (David) and Helen Wade (Joe). Grandfather of Betsy Fish. Brother of Alex Forbes (Dorothy) and uncle of Sandy, Lisa and Thomas. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. A service was held July 16 at the United Methodist Church, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
