While the ladies of the US women’s Olympic soccer team prepared for the big games, they also had time to squeeze in a little fun. The team performed a Miley Cyrus hit song for all the world to enjoy.

The women’s soccer team lip-synched to Cyrus’ hit “Party In The USA” and filmed the performance. While not quite up to Cyrus’ par, the video proved to be quite entertaining and also very popular. It quickly went viral, collecting more than 80,000 views.

“I hopped off the plane at LAX with a dream and my cardigan, welcome to the land of fame, excess, whoa am I gotta fit in? Jumped in the cab, here I am for the first time, look to my right, and I see the Hollywood sign,” sang the group, who can be seen singing the famous Cyrus lyrics in various locations from a hotel room to the streets.

The song was a good choice for the team. The group is overseas preparing to compete against other countries for the gold medal. With lyrics like,

“This is all so crazy, everybody seems so famous, my tummy’s turning and I’m feeling kinda homesick, too much pressure and I’m nervous,” the group can surely relate.

“Party In The USA” comes from the Cyrus’ The Time of Our Lives album released in 2009. It proved to be successful following its release and peaking at the No. 2  spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming the singer’s best-charting single to date. It also reached the top 10 on charts in eight countries.

According to the video caption, the video stems from the mass trend of remaking the famous music video of another pop star, Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.”

“After the hype of Call Me Maybe, the US team decided to have a little fun and do their own cover of Party in the USA,” reads the video caption. “Join all 22 players on the road to gold. Team effort. Girls just wanna have fun. Thanks Miley.”
