With the London 2012 Olympics in full swing, so many of the events are very exciting, especially the swimming and it was extremely disappointing not to see Michael Phelps receive yet another gold medal.
However, on Saturday the USA girls basketball team vs. Croatia was so much fun because a New Hyde Park resident, Lisa Karcic, was on that Croatia team. They were not supposed to be challengers in any sense of the word, but did a fine job of holding their own in the first half and part of the second before they gave way to the very excellent United States team.
However, Karcic stayed in there all the way and was even announced as being from New York but playing on the Croatia team team because her dad was from Croatia.
