Temple B’nai Torah Honors War Veterans

Temple B’nai Torah located at 2900 Jerusalem Ave. and Oakfield Ave. in Wantagh, will honor the Jewish War Veterans as part of the Erev Shabbat Service on Friday evening at 8 p.m. The community is invited as Rabbi Marci Bellows and Cantor Steven Sher will acknowledge with words and prayers, the veterans who have served their country. Veterans are encouraged to come in uniform.

The Eyes of Learning Event: Meet the Psychics

This evening’s program is designed to bring you the opportunity to get up close and personal with gifted readers, mediums and psychics. So mark this date on your calendar and be there at “Meet The Psychics” to experience firsthand, in a very intimate environment, many of these gifted metaphysicians that will read at our Nov. 11 festival. Members: $10/non-members: $15. 8 p.m.

Salute to Veterans Benefit Concert

Benefit concert will be held at the Uniondale High School auditorium at 7 p.m. Sponsored by Including People Of Value and Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby. CCAN’s Gala Event

The Carcinoid Cancer Awareness Network (CCAN) will host the 9th Annual “Celebration of Life” Gala on Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The evening includes a cocktail hour, dinner, open bar, coffee and cake, music, dancing, 50/50 raffles, and raffle prizes. The gala will be held at The Sterling, 345 Hicksville Rd., Bethpage. Attendance is $95 per person or $875 for a table of ten. To register or for more information visit: www.carcinoid awareness.org.

The Annual Eyes of Learning Fall Festival

Come join the Eyes of Learning’s Fall Festival with raffles, vendors, free lectures, food, camaraderie and the option to purchase your own psychic reading. Spend a day with “like minded individuals” and make some new friends. The festival is a source of the Eyes of Learning operating revenue thanks to the many volunteers and psychics who generously give of their time and talents to keep the regularly scheduled lectures and workshops available to all. You can “give back” to the Eyes of Learning through your annual membership dollars and by generously supporting festival vendors. Free Lecture at Hofstra University

The Long Island Society of the Archaeological Institute of America will be presenting a free lecture titled “The Unsolved Mystery of the Athenian Agora Bone Well” at 2 p.m. The lecture will take place in Breslin Hall, Room 106 at Hofstra University. Speaker will be Dr. Susan Rotroff, (AIA speaker), who is a professor in the Dept. of Classics at Washington University, St. Louis.
