St. Patrick’s Day Dinner And Auction
Last Hope Animal Rescue is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner & Auction on Sunday, March 10 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Mulcahy’s Pub, 3232 Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh 11793. Tickets are $60 per person. Dinner includes salad, main course and dessert. (Beer/wine/soda, coffee and tea included.) This comedy treats a serious subject with great love, and raises all sorts of issues as to how much we shortchange ourselves due to our own fears and anxieties. Reach For The Stars Fundraiser
The Friends of Brookville Center for Children’s Services will hold its annual “Reach for the Stars” dinner to benefit its specialized Autism Program on Thursday, March 14. The autism program is a year-round program located on AHRC Nassau’s Brookville campus. The program provides children an individualized education that takes into account each child’s strengths as well as skill deficits, and teaches the skills needed to increase their ability to communicate and function independently. The event features a silent auction, dinner and dancing and will take place at 7 p.m. at The Inn at New Hyde Park. Tickets are $150 per person and sponsorship opportunities are available. On Saturday, March 16 Hofstra Law will host a free legal assistance clinic for all veterans. Free consultations with pro-bono attorneys who specialize in elder law, tax, wills, estate, family law, VA benefits, claims, disability, employment, USERRA, housing, bankruptcy, debtor/creditor matters, medicare/medicaid, landlord-tenant issues and more. The Music Man
Plainview Jewish Center, located at 95 Floral Drive in Plainview, will be putting on a production of the beloved musical The Music Man on March 16, 17, 23 and 24. The show will start at 8:15 p.m. on March 16 and 23, and 3 p.m. on March 17 and 24. Tickets are $20 each for the first two seats, $54 for three seats, and $18 for each additional seat. Long Island Guitar Festival
A weeklong celebration of musical performances, workshops and master classes will take place at the 21st Annual Long Island Guitar Festival at LIU Post from March 17 – 24. The festival will feature internationally renowned musicians including John Williams and John Etheridge, Gyan Riley, William Kanengiser, Eden- Stell Duo, Dennis Koster, Matt Palmer and Artesian Collaborative. The festival, directed by Harris Becker, is an annual international festival presented by the Department of Music in the School of Visual and Performing Arts at LIU Post. Festival sponsors include the D’Addario Foundation for the Performing Arts, the Augustine Foundation, Savarez, Sam Ash, Murphy’s Music, LIU’s John P. McGrath Fund and dedicated individuals.
