Elmont Memorial High School seventh-grader Stephany Guitierrez-Mendoza won the recent Nassau County Music Educator’s Association (NMEA) All-County T-Shirt design contest. Her design is featured on the T-shirts and sweatshirts available at the 2013 Nassau All-County Festival rehearsals and concert.
“I could not believe it when I saw students I did not know wearing my design. It gave me a sense of pride in myself and my school,” said Guitierrez-Mendoza.
Music Chairperson Eileen Kramer, will display the winning design in a showcase featuring accomplishments of the music department.
