Spring musical Anything Goes

opens this weekend

Peter Rufa is in his first year as the supervisor of the Fine and Performing Arts Department for the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Schools. As a result of his efforts, the spring musical Anything Goes promises to achieve a new level of professionalism. Performances will take place at the Oyster Bay Performing Arts Center on Friday, April 12 at 8 p.m., Saturday, April 13 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m. 

 

Christopher Canadeo (Elisha J. Whitney) is in his sophomore year.  This is Christopher’s first-ever theatrical performance. Mia DiMeo (flirty passenger) has still learned new things about the wondrous stage even though this is not her first show at OBHS, Mia. Laurel Dorfman (Mrs. Harcourt) is a junior at OBHS and is performing in her third musical.

 

Megan Fives (Charity) is a 10th-grade honors student that has been involved in Oyster Bay’s performing arts since middle school where she first developed her love for musical theater.  Beth Anne Gallagher (Hope Harcourt) is a junior in high school and is thrilled to be in this year’s production of Anything Goes.  Bryan Gallagher (Ching) is a freshman at Oyster Bay High School. This is Bryan’s first performance in front of the curtain. Olivia Grady (Ling/Passenger), a junior, is appearing in her third OBHS spring musical.  Elizabeth Gurdus (Reno Sweeney) is a senior and is taking the stage in her fifth and final OBHS Spring Musical. Erica Haguisan (Upper-class Passenger) is a sophomore and is performing in her fourth musical at OBHS. Julia Iacoviello (Passenger) is an eighth-grader at OBHS. She is looking forward to being in her first play. Michael Jorge-Rivera (Captain) is a sophomore at OBHS. He has past theatrical experience in last year’s production of Footloose. Aubri Juhasz (Reporter/Soloist) is a junior taking part in her first Oyster Bay High School production. Daniel Juhasz (Sailor) is an eighth grader, and this is his first play. Hannah Kaufman (Photographer) is a sophomore and is very excited to be a part of her second musical at OBHS. Virginia Kemp (Chastity) is very excited to be a part of this year’s school musical. As a junior this is Virginia’s third show, but she has more experience outside of school. Matthew Mahoski (Sir Evelyn Oakleigh) is a junior at Oyster Bay High School. Nathalie Mejia (Bonnie) is a ninth-grade honor student whose love for music led her to audition for her first musical this year. James Peitz (Moonface Martin) is excited to be making his OBHS play debut. Savannah Rose Green (Virtue) is performing in her second high school musical. She is a member of Mixed Chorus and plays the oboe in the Symphonic Band. Michael Schuler (Purser/Sailor 1) is a top level varsity athlete. Matthew Treiber (Billy Crocker) is a junior  at Oyster Bay and is participating in his fourth high school musical.  Danilo Tumasella (Steward/Sailor 2) is very excited to be in this production of Anything Goes. This is his fourth time being in a school musical. Ernest Muller (Stage Manager) has participated in almost every single music and theater program in Oyster Bay High School. Jasmine Williams (Stage Manager) has been acting and singing for several years now. Stephen C. Pagano (Vocal Director) began his musical career at Nassau Community College with The Fantasticks and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, directed by Billy Crystal. Joann Alerte (Clarinet) is a senior and a member of Oyster Bay High School’s Wind Ensemble. Daniel Bach (Guitar) has been involved with Performing Arts at Oyster Bay for many years. Ian Estevez (Trumpet) is a senior and has been a member of the Wind Ensemble for three years. Angelica Green (Flute) is an active member of the programs offered in the music department of Oyster Bay High School. Ryan Maloney (Percussion) is a sophomore at Oyster Bay High School. Steven Matthews (Percussion) is an aspiring musician and composer whose works have been published and performed mainly by him.  Halsey Quinn (Oboe) is an active member of the Oyster Bay High School community.  Christopher Sadocha (Trombone) is currently a senior who will be attending SUNY Cortland next year. Dean Smiros (Tenor/Bari Saxophone) is a senior at Oyster Bay High School. Mark Stutzmann (Alto Saxophone) is a junior at Oyster Bay High School and is playing in the pit band for the first time.
