Good through Dec. 31, 2014
Everyone is looking for ways to stretch their dollars these days, and the new “Friends of the Chamber Merchant Card” is here to help. It will remain valid until December 31, 2014. Fifty-four local chamber members – merchants, professionals and retail service business will welcome your patronage and provide special discounts and benefits when you show your card.
Additionally, 14 chamber members have generously sponsored the card, defraying the cost of printing both the cards and brochures that list the participants and their discounts and special services. Both participants and sponsors may also be found on the chamber’s website: www.gardencitychamber.org. Business may become participants free of charge at any time and will be listed on the chamber’s website and within the Business Bulletin magazine.
The Chamber Card was an initiative of the late Russell Ciolli (Grimaldi’s Pizzeria) and Suzanne Eigl (The Donnelly Group) – active chamber members. The project continues under the supervision of the chamber office and the chamber’s Merchant, Professional and Retailers Group. There have been 10,000 cards and brochures printed which are being distributed throughout the business districts. The purpose: to encourage shopping and dining in Garden City’s downtown.
As a cardholder, you simply need to present your card each time you make a purchase or benefits from a service listed inside the brochure. Each merchant or service business has determined their unique consideration for cardholders. All are listed within the brochure. (Should a listed participant not accept the Friend of the Chamber Merchant card, please ask to resolve the question with the manager or contact the chamber at 516-746-7724.)
The Friend of the Chamber Merchant cards are available at the chamber’s Toll Lodge office at 230 Seventh St. and at Garden City Properties/GC Commercial at 171 Seventh St. Businesses who would like a supply of cards to distribute to their employees, may call the chamber with the desired amount. Again, the purpose: to entice people to shop, dine and seek their services in the Village of Garden City.
