Girls Minor Division

Zadnik D.D.S

Zadnik D.D.S. played Floral Park where Megan Bleeker pitched and had 11 strikeouts on June 1, winning 14-0. Maria Lodato and Sarah Pincay played catcher and did a great job. Marisa Ogden had two doubles to the outfield with 3 RBI’s and a single. Twelve of the Zadnik girls got hits and work their way around the bases to score. 

 

Zadnik DDS beat West Hempstead 12-11 on June 11 West Hempstead. Zadnik’s Katie Hopkins and Mia Bronzino pitched while Sarah Pincay & Marisa Ogden caught the game. The weather was very iffy but they got the game in and the Zadnik bats keep them on top 12-11. 

 

Zadnik faced off against Franklin Square at Pistillo Field on May 20. They ended in a 5-5 tie. Marisa hit a triple with bases loaded to account for three runs while Megan and Mia pitched.

Zadnik record is 11-1-1.

 

Mathnasium

Mathnasium played the tight pitching Garden City South team at Averill Field on  June 5, tieing 4-4. Mathnasium decided to flip their roster for the game and with that maneuver the game started slow going into the last inning. New Hyde Park pitchin had 11 Ks to GCS’s 12 Ks for the game. In the last inning, NHP gave up five runs with two batters Hit By Pitch and three walks given up. Julia K, Jennifer S. Claire M all scored runs and Paige Jones had a homerun to open the last inning to account for the 4th run NHP earned.    

 

Mathnasium beat Franklin Square at Rath Park Field 18-11 on June 8. For NHP, Claire Mikowski, Ashley Rullo and Paige Jones all had a walk, single, and a double and accounted for nine runs scored. The game was tied 11-11 going into the last inning when NHP Mathnasium opened up with two doubles and two singles and scored  seven runs. Franklin Square had last a bat and went three up, three down all K’s, NHP won 18-11.

 

Mathnasium  record is 7-7-1.

 

District 29 Williamsport Tournament Update

NHPLL Major Girls started the Little League Williamsport District 29 Tournament on June 17 at Pistillo Field, beating Malvern 11-1 in five innings. Their bats were alive, feet were moving along the base paths, and their defense was spot on.

 

Lindsey Riamondi was the opening pitcher with Angelina Fernandez catching. Fernandez threw out three girls at third base one stealing and the other two got caught sleeping on their lead off.

The NHPLL Girls Minors division starts its Little League Williamsport District 29 Tournament on June 26 at Whelan Field vs Garden City South, 6 p.m.
