Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School recognized the achievements of its outstanding students at its Annual Honors Banquet. Among those honored was Farmingdale resident Jayne Guarino.
Guarino received a certificate for three-year membership in the National Honor Society. Membership in the LuHi Chapter of the National Honor Society is granted to those students who have been highly rated by faculty members in the areas of character, leadership and service and who have an 85 or better cumulative average.
Co-curricular awards are presented to seniors who have made outstanding contributions in various co-curricular activities. The Music Club award recognizes Guarino’s dedication as well as her ability to serve as a positive role model for her peers.
Throughout her career at LuHi, Guarino has been active in many co-curricular and athletic activities as a member of the Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble, Music Club, Junior State of America, Model U.N., Quiz Bowl and Drama/Backstage. She will be attending Roger Williams University in the fall.
