Please Continue To Shop And Dine Outdoors In Garden City
The residents of Garden City are very fortunate to have viable retail businesses on Seventh Street, Franklin Avenue and New Hyde Park Road where there is a good variety of quality merchandise and family dining experiences available to be enjoyed. Please support these businesses and enjoy the products, variety and outstanding customer service. I look forward to seeing everyone in town.
Long Island Railroad – Stewart Manor Station
The Long Island Railroad (LIRR) has advised the village that it is planning to make some improvements to the Stewart Manor station building roof. It will be removing the entire shingle roof and installing new shingles and other required materials. The new roof will improve the aesthetics of the station Building and positively impact the local area which is mostly residential.
The LIRR anticipates beginning this project next week with a time frame of four weeks to complete. During the duration of the improvements, four to five parking spaces will be used to accommodate work vehicles and equipment. Also, for two weeks there will be a 20-yard container on site for the disposal of the debris.
Board Of Trustees’ Meeting Schedule
The next meeting of the board of trustees will be on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. I encourage all residents to attend board of trustees meetings so as to be thoroughly informed of village issues from a first-hand perspective.
