Saltzman East Memorial Elementary School recently welcomed students back to school for the 2013-14 year. The first-day-of-school excitement was present as students were welcomed off the buses by their teachers.
To kick off the year on a positive note, teachers and staff distributed copies of Kathryn Otoshi’s One, a book illustrating the message of inclusion and how to stand up against bullying, to students. The distribution of One is part of the school’s Character Education program. September’s theme is designated as respect and will be followed throughout the month.
