Registration for the Town of Oyster Bay Youth Ice Hockey Program will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center in Bethpage. Following those dates, registration will continue in the Recreation office at Town Hall South, located at 977 Hicksville Road, in Massapequa, from Oct. 10 through Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Additionally this season, the program welcomes back former New York Ranger and Long Island Duck’s Eastern Hockey League legend Buzz Deschamps, who has joined our staff and will help oversee the on-ice program and its coaches.
The program is available for players born between Jan. 1, 2000 and Dec. 31, 2010 according to the standards below:
Tot Hockey: January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2010
Mini-Mites: January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2007
Mites: January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2005
Squirts: January 1, 2002 to December 31, 2003
Pee Wees January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2001
Registrants must bring a copy of their birth certificate, proof of Town of Oyster Bay residency (canceled check, utility bill, etc.) and a check or money order (no cash) for $150 for one child being registered and $75 for each additional child. All registrants must bring these items, even if they have participated in the past. A parent or legal guardian must be present at registration.
