Nancy Foresto, a Mineola native, died on Sept. 29 at the age of 92. Born in Italy, Foresto moved to Mineola as a young child. She attended Mineola High School and went on to work as a seamstress at a factory in Mineola.
Foresto soon met her husband Michael, a tailor trained in Italy and together they nurtured a small tailoring shop on Willis Avenue in Mineola into a well respected business. A family owned and operated business, Foresto’s Men’s Shop and
Tuxedo continues to serve the community 73 years later at the same location.
Predeceased by her husband Michael, Nancy is survived by her sons Joseph and Dominick, her six grandchildren, her seven great-grandchildren and her sister Emilie Fasano .
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, in Mineola, under the direction of the Cassidy Funeral Home, followed her burial at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury New York.
