John F. Kennedy High School students enrolled in the Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District’s Child Development class recently participated in an ‘arts and crafts’ activity as part of a lesson on encouraging young children to express their creativity, coordination and imagination. During the activity, the students were educated on the importance of visual learning techniques. Throughout the year, Child Development students learn how to properly interact with children while enhancing the younger students’ developmental skills — topics include discipline, health and safety and to how to play and read to young children.
