A Bethpage teenager was killed when she crashed her vehicle while driving alone in North Massapequa on Wednesday morning.

New York State police said 19-year-old Monisha Jacob was driving westbound on the Southern State Parkway near the Bethpage State Parkway when she lost control while slowing for traffic, drove off the roadway and struck a tree on the right shoulder shortly before noon.

Jacob, who describes herself as a Bethpage High School graduate and Molloy College student on her Facebook profile, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash.
