


The Music Department and world language departments at New Hyde Park Memorial High School selected Morgan Roth and Sara Salomon as its students of the month recently. Roth is an 11th-grader and a member of the New Hyde Park Orchestra program. She has played the violin since fourth grade.
Roth is currently a member of the senior high orchestra, string ensemble, pit orchestra for the musical and is the concert mistress for this year’s Sewanhaka District Festival Orchestra. She is also a participant in the Nassau All-County Orchestra this year. In order to be selected to this group, students must have a NYSSMA rating of 6A+100, a rating Roth received last year. She also holds the position of co-vice president of string ensemble and is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Solomon is an eighth-grader in Ms. Mei’s Spanish 8 class. She is a hardworking and dedicated student. Solomon also likes to help her peers when they need help. She is on the twirling team and the volleyball team. Solomon’s hobbies include photography, poetry, reading, listening to music, playing the flute, jazz and classical piano.
New Hyde Park also selected Victoria Lee, Brian Ambadjes and Michael Zornberg from the English and student activities departments as students of the month.
Lee has worked on her autobiographical essay, taking risks in developing a theme within her writing. Her brilliance can also be seen in her collegiate level writing skills in analyzing American fiction.
Ambadjes is the treasurer for the Class of 2014 and has helped out his grade with homecoming and dues collection. Zornberg is the class president and works on various senior events.
