The North Shore-LIJ Health System will host a series of job seminars for veterans and their families in Lake Success in January and February.
During these sessions, attendees will work with Air Force veteran Bernadette Fackovec, veteran program specialist in North Shore-LIJ’s Workforce Readiness division. She created a guide called “From Barracks to Business: Translating Military Skills to Career Success,” which helps show veterans and service members how their military experiences and skills can be put to use in the civilian workforce.
“Our veterans and military service members have done so much to serve our country and we want to do all we can to give back to them,” Ms. Fackovec said.
