SEPTA Meeting

The next meeting of the Farmingdale Schools’ Special Education Parent-Teacher Association will be held at Northside Elementary on Jan. 29, at 7:00 p.m.

How to Write a Business Plan

On Jan. 30, Farmingdale State College’s Small Business Development Center will host a seminar on how to write a business plan. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m.-Noon inside the Campus Commons at 2350 Broadhollow Rd. Registration is $17 and pre-registration is required to attend. Superintendent’s Conference Day

Farmingdale schools will be closed on Jan. 31, for students grades K-12. 

 

Hawaiian Luau

On Jan. 31, St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 145 Prospect Street in Farmingdale, is throwing a Hawaiian Luau night from 7-10 p.m. inside Fellowship Hall. The event is open to all ages and includes a dinner buffet, dessert, beverages and professional Hawaiian Entertainment. Admission is $15 for adults, and $7 for children under 18-years-old. Children under 5 are free.

Souper Bowl of Caring

On Feb. 2, Farmingdale United Methodist Church will be participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring, a day when young people around the U.S. give love to neighbors in their community and all-around the world. FUMC youths will collect $1 bills and cans of soup after services on Sunday. 

 

Scout Sunday

On Feb. 2, St. Kilian’s Roman Catholic Church will hold a special mass at 9:30 a.m. to present local Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelo Cub Scouts with with religious emblem badges for those who have completed their emblem workbooks. All Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, Leaders and Adults in scouting are invited to attend, in uniform, for Scout Sunday. Village Board of Trustees Meeting

The next meeting of the Village of Farmingdale Board of Trustees will be held on Feb. 3, at 8 p.m. at Village Hall, located at 361 Main St.

February Luncheon Meeting

The next general meeting of the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will be held at noon on Feb. 6, at CaraCara Mexican Grille on Main Street. 

 

Junior Women’s Club

The Junior Women’s Club of Farmingdale will meet on Feb. 6, from 7:30-10:00 p.m. at Village Hall, located at 361 Main St. 

Sunday, February 9

Traditional Dragon Line Dancing

On Feb. 9, join the Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary from 4-8:00 p.m. as they bring in the Chinese New Year at the Lotus Garden, located at 345 Conklin Street. Admission is $45 per person, and covers appetizers, entrees, tea, soda and dessert. A Chinese Auction will also be held to celebrate the year of the horse. Tax Grievance Day 

Farmingdale village will hold Tax Grievance Day on Feb. 18, from 5-9 p.m. for any residents looking to file a grievance on their property taxes.

The next meeting of the Women’s Club of Farmingdale will be held on Feb. 20, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Village Hall, located at 361 Main St.

Fun Run

The Greater Long Island Running Club will be hosting a fun run on Feb. 23. The event will begin promptly at 9 a.m., behind the Runner’s Edge, located at 242 Main St. in Farmingdale.

The next meeting of the Village of Farmingdale Planning Board will be held on Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. inside Village Hall, located at 361 Main St.

Winter Wonderland Expo

On Feb. 27, the Village of Farmingdale and the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will throw the first-ever Winter Wonderland Expo at Village Hall, located at 361 Main St. The event will run from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., and will include a Taste of Farmingdale, a meet and greet, a community open house for neighbors, merchants, friends and family. 

Saturday, March 1

Farmingdale HS Fashion Show 

The annual school fashion show will take place on March 1, at 6 p.m. inside Farmingdale High School. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. All proceeds go to the scholarship fund. So come support this great event and watch our models (both students and faculty) strut their stuff on the runway.
