Herricks Student Wins Art Award

Herricks High School senior Kristina Dolan was recently chosen as the winner of the 2014 Nassau County Art Supervisors Association Senior Art Scholarship Award. Dolan will receive the award at a special ceremony at Adelphi University’s Ruth Harley Hall on March 16 at 11 a.m.  The award is given to a deserving senior who has consistently demonstrated exemplary talent and passion in two-dimensional visual art forms.

 

“One of the goals of the Art Supervisors Association is to encourage our young artists. Our mission is to honor and recognize an outstanding senior from each member district in Nassau County who will likely pursue further studies in the fine and visual arts,” said Mary Passero, Herricks School District arts and business chairperson and immediate past president of the Art Supervisors Association.  

 

The 10th Annual All-County Student Art Exhibition will commence on the second floor of Ruth Harley Hall at Adelphi University from noon to 4 p.m. 

 

Passero announced 27 other Herricks students that were selected by their art teachers to participate in this event: Herricks High School: Stella Boniello, Alexandra Cohen, Su S. Chun, Jennifer Ho, Steven Lin, Benjamin Liu, Tiffany Nam, Disha Singh, David Smith, Annalissa Thomas and Sarah Yun Yun.

 

Herricks Middle School: Rosemary Hagerman, Christine Hoang, Simran Kaur, Jennifer Kim, Grace Pagliuca and Natalie Reisman.

 

Center Street Elementary School: Alyssa Lam, Roshni Patel and David Xiang.

 

Denton Avenue Elementary School: Hannah Comerchero, Ava Lorenzana and Sydney Pai.

 

Searingtown Elementary School: Gabrielle Bjelos, Jonathan Chau and Daniel Yang.
