Obituary: Julius Nadle

Julius Nadle, 88, World War II veteran, passed away in New Bern, N.C. on Jan. 4, 2014. He was owner of Color Clad, Inc. for 40 years, at one time owning three stores on Long Island. He was past president of the Paint Dealers Assn. and also of the Locust Valley Rotary Club and received the Paul Harris Award. His special passion was working for the Gift of Life program which brought children from all over the world to the U.S. to have heart surgery. Upon retirement, Julie and Bea retired to North Carolina, where he joined the New Bern Rotary Club and became their historian. Julie and Bea enjoyed delivering food for the Meals on Wheels program.

Julie leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Bea, daughter Kathy Holmes and Tom Covitz, granddaughter Kelly D’Ambrosio and husband Daniel and their children Philip and Michael. Also survived by sister-in-law Jeanette Nadle and niece Lucette and husband Barry and nephew Alan and wife Stacey. Arrangements were made by Cotten Funeral Home and service and burial were at Coastal Carolina Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, N.C.
