The Hicksville Public School District will hold a community health fair this weekend. Local residents are invited to take part in the fourth annual fair and “Commit To Be Fit” as they enjoy fun, free activities and learn more about how to be healthy.
Enjoy nutritious snacks, try a class in Zumba, Yoga, Martial Arts, Modified Cricket, or choose one of the many activities scheduled. Residents can then stop by the school nurses’ booth for a free blood pressure screening. There are activities for the entire family and over 50 booths, including basketball and volleyball, eight hole mini golf, ping pong and knock hockey, Wii Dance, dance and fitness classes and Circuit /CV training.
Parents are also invited to stop by a wellness workshop on cyber bullying and bullying. Kids can also enjoy a scavenger hunt in the main lobby. Giveaways and refreshments will also be available.
This is a great, free opportunity to learn how you and your family can live a healthier lifestyle. The fair will be held at Hicksville High School on Saturday, March 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Additional information can be found on the district website: www.hicksvillepublicschools.org.
