A Bay Shore man was arrested for stabbing a 40-year-old man to death in the victim’s hometown of Central Islip over the weekend, Suffolk County police said.

Officers responded to a report of yelling on Pinewood Avenue, where they found Carlos Velasquez lying in the street with a stab wound to the abdomen shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The victim was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he died.

Witnesses reportedly told investigators that Wilfredo Flores, 28, of Bay Shore, stabbed the victim and held him until officers arrived, police said.

Homicide Squad detectives charged Flores with first-degree manslaughter.

He will be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.
