Farmingdale High School student Minhal Ahmed has been named as a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship competition. Minhal is one of 15,000 students across the country to receive this honor. This accomplishment recognizes Minhal for his academic achievement as well as his success beyond the classroom.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships based on high school student’s scores on the Preliminary SATs and the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Tests. Students are also assessed on their volunteer participation, teacher recommendations, their grades in high school courses and rigor of courses taken.
