John F. Kennedy High School’s student-run school store, The Hawk’s Nest, was recently re-certified by DECA — a non-profit organization that prepares students for careers in marketing, management, finance and hospitality — as a Gold Level Certification recipient. DECA awards school-based enterprise certifications at three levels: gold, silver or bronze. The Hawk’s Nest was among 160 school-based enterprises in the United States to earn a gold marking, and will be recognized for their achievement at DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District students Jared Rochlen, Jake Rockower and Josh Schwartz worked on achieving the Gold Level Certification and were assisted by their club advisors Mrs. Lindsay Delucca, Ms. Jennifer Santorello and Mr. Mike Amubry.
