Saint Mary’s High School will host its 2014 Hall of Fame on Thursday, March 27 at Plandome Country Club. This year, the Hall will see four new inductees join the High School’s very distinguished and prestigious group. Inductees include Great Neck residents.
Anthony J. Bonomo, Esq.
Anthony Bonomo is Chief Executive Officer of Administrators for the Professions, Inc., the insurance company management organization that operates, among others, Physicians’ Reciprocal Insurers, a medical professional liability insurer.
Anthony and his wife, MaryEllen have been parishioners of St. Mary’s since 1999. Their three children: Anthony Jr., Julianne, and Jaclyn attended and graduated from both St. Mary’s Elementary and High Schools. Bonomo’s contributions to St. Mary’s include coaching the St. Mary’s boys’ baseball team for many years, creation of the GAELS Foundation, which has contributed to the Denihan turf field and refurbished the Immaculata Hall auditorium, and the boys’ locker room and weight room in Marist Hall.
In 2006, Bonomo was honored at the 14th Annual Don Monti Memorial Golf Classic for his tremendous support of St. Mary’s. Anthony and Mary Ellen have opened their home to host Gaels Society receptions to encourage others to be engaged in support of St. Mary’s. They are a tremendous example of parental involvement and generosity.
Bonomo holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from St. John’s University, and has served as a trustee of Hofstra University.
Kathy Cawley ’78
Great Neck’s Kathleen Cawley is the Director and Compliance Executive at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch Global Markets, and is the primary point person in Compliance for Global Markets Regulatory Reform efforts in developing and implementing a comprehensive compliance program for Derivatives Products regulatory requirements.
Cawley has spent the past 30 years in a variety of compliance and business roles for several firms, including Bear Stearns, Institutional Direct, Inc. Fleet Securities, Inc., Hornblower Fischer & Co., Inc. and Norstar Brokerage Corp. She is an Arbitrator for Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (FINRA) and is a member of FINRA’s Compliance Official and Registered Representative Exam Committees. In addition, she is a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association Legal and Compliance Society, and over the course of her career has been active in various industry association committees and organizations.
Cawley holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the State University of New York, College at Brockport. A parishioner of St. Aloysius, Great Neck, Cawley actively supports the St. Mary’s Alumni Association, faithfully serves on the Don Monti Memorial Golf Classic committee and participates in student-mentoring programs. She has been a member of the St. Mary’s School board since 2011.
Mary Lou and Marc de Venoge
Mary Lou and Marc de Venoge have been loyal parishioners of St. Mary’s since 1986. The couple attributes the success of their four children, Sarah, Anna Christine, Juliette, and Vincent to their education at both St. Mary’s Elementary and High Schools. When their son Vincent graduates in June 2014, the de Venoges will have collectively supported 48 years of Catholic education at St. Mary’s.
Mr. de Venoge is the Chief Financial Officer for Surdna Foundation. He has served on the School Boards of both St. Mary’s Elementary and High Schools, serving as president of the High School Board from 2000-present. He also serves as a member of the Parish Finance Committee.
Mrs. De Venoge, an AFAA-certified fitness instructor and registered nurse, has been actively involved with the Gaels Parents’ Association by serving on the leadership team since 2012. She was also actively involved with the Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization. She is also a Eucharistic Minister in church, and also travels to serve Communion to a senior assisted living community.
