The Manhasset Art Association will host “The Spring Exhibition” at the Shelter Rock Gallery at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock beginning Saturday, March 22.
The exhibit will run through Tuesday, April 22 and will feature a variety of media, including photography. Approximately 40 artists from the 104-member Manhasset Art Association are expected to participate. A reception open to the public is scheduled for Sunday, March 23, 2014 between the hours of 1:00-3:00 p.m. Marc Josloff will judge and critique the artwork during the opening reception at which time awards will be distributed for Best in Show, Award of Excellence and Award of Merit. Honorable Mention certificates will also be issued.
Manhasset Art Association President Barbara Silbert says the organization is looking forward to exhibiting diverse works at the Shelter Rock Gallery. “Our members work in oils, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, pencil, colored pencil, photography and monoprinting. Now in its 65th year of operation, the Manhasset Art Association offers three major exhibits each year in local libraries and galleries, workshops with a live model and a general meeting/lecture each month. The MAA is currently at a strength of 104 members hailing from the environs of Queens and Long Island.
