Board of Education Budget Workshop
The next budget workshop/public meeting of the Farmingdale School District Board of Education will be held on March 26, at 8 p.m., in the Howitt Middle School cafeteria, located at 70 Van Cott Ave. in Farmingdale.

Board of Fire Commissioners
The next meeting of the Farmingdale Board of Fire Commissioners will be held at 8 p.m. inside Village Hall, located at 361 Main St. in Farmingdale.
Chamber of Commerce Comedy Night
On March 27, join the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., for its annual comedy night event at the Farmingdale Knights of Columbus headquarters, located at 1 Morton St. in Farmingdale. The event will feature three top comedians and will also include a buffet dinner, beer, wine, soda, coffee and dessert. Tickets are $25 and the proceeds go to support the Chamber’s Farmingdale High School Scholarship Fund and other community projects.
Basketball Fundraiser
On March 27, at 7 p.m., join students, faculty and staff, at the Weldon E. Howitt Middle School, located at 70 Van Cott Ave., for a friendly round of basketball to help raise funds.

On April 6, join the Albany Avenue PTA for their 4th annual 5K race. The race will begin promptly at 9 a.m., outside the Albany Avenue School, located at 101 N. Albany Ave. in North Massapequa. ASL Honor Society Induction Ceremony
At 7 p.m., on April 8, Farmingdale High School will hold a special ceremony for students achieving honors in American Sign Language.
The Case for Mobile
Today, lots of customers are using mobile devices to find what they need, to assess their options, to make decisions, and to make purchases. Small businesses who start embracing mobile now will be the ones best able to compete.
On April 8, Farmingdale State College, located at 2350 Broadhollow Road in Farmingdale, will help participants better understand this mobile transition so they will not get left behind. The program runs from 9-11 a.m. at the SBDC Conference Center. Cost is $12 to participate, and pre-registration is required.

On April 9, the Farmingdale School District’s Board of Education will hold a special meeting, at 8 p.m., to adopt the proposed budget for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

St. Kilian’s Food Pantry
Located at 140 Elizabeth St., St. Kilian’s church serves anyone who lives within the parish boundaries regardless of religion, race or ethnicity. The Food Pantry is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. It is also available certain Saturdays by appointment only. Spanish translators are available Tuesdays and Fridays.
