Congratulations to local athletes Patty Santella of Syosset, Pamela Lee of Syosset, Steve Jonas of Woodbury and Bert Jablon of Syosset, each of whom won awards in the second of the Jonas Chirpractic Run Nassau Series of races, which was held at Nickerson Beach on Sunday morning, March 9.
Santella completed the 4-mile race through the streets of Lido Beach and Point Lookout in 29 minutes, 30 seconds, a 7:23 per mile pace that brought her to the Nickerson Beach finish line 16 seconds in front of runner-up Yvonne Leippert of Coram. Lee was the 2nd finisher in the women’s 60-64 age group in 34:28, and Jablon was the top finisher in the 85 and age group in 54:47.
Steve Jonas, the principal of title sponsor Jonas Chiropractic, took home the third place award in the 60-64 age group with a finishing time of 32:43.
