The “Many Faces of Family Violence” conference will take place on April 11 at the LIU Post campus in Brookville.
Evan Robbins, founder of Breaking the Chain Through Education, a non-profit organization devoted to eradicating child slavery in Ghana, Africa, will serve as keynote speaker at the conference. Several workshops will also be offered throughout the morning which addresses different areas of family violence.

In 2010, County Executive Mangano appointed a distinguished panel of individuals to serve on a Family Violence Task Force – chaired by Social Services Commissioner Dr. John Imhof. County Executive Mangano became New York State’s first County Executive to declare that “family and domestic violence are public health emergencies that threaten the lives of children and other family members.” He stressed the importance of reducing violence in our communities, emphasizing “Violence is Not the Answer.”
