HEARTS Prepares For PortFest

fest

HEARTS is assembling its 2014 roster of participants and contributors for this year’s PortFest music, arts and community festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Schreiber High School campus.

HEARTS will be exhibiting local student and adult artwork at PortFest. If you are a visual artist and have interest in exhibiting your work at PortFest 2014 there are a few spots left, so contact gallery director Rachelle Krieger at art@heartspw.org to apply for consideration, a spokesman said.

All of HEARTS performance stages are booked with local musicians. However, if you are part of a local musical performance group that may be interested in performing at next year’s PortFest, reach out to event coordinator Jane Ronis at chefforanight@yahoo.com.

If you’d like to join and support the arts with friends, family and neighbors, there are several opportunities to get involved in this year’s PortFest including: arts and crafts activities, event production, community outreach, art gallery exhibition, performance stages and design and promotion.

If you appreciate the importance of the arts in childrens’ lives and our community you can help the cause with your own “team” to set a goal and raise money to support music and arts programs in our local public schools, a spokesman said. If you need help with anything, e-mail info@heartspw.org.
