Chamber of Commerce Meeting
The next general meeting of the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will be held on May 1, at noon, at Dominican Restaurant 4, located at 305 Main St. in Farmingdale. Guest speaker will be Assistant Superintendent of Business and Finance Paul Defendini.
Farmingdale HS Honor Society
On May 1, Farmingdale High School’s technology honor society will hold its annual induction ceremony at the American Airpower Museum, located at 1230 New Highway in Farmingdale.

Mother’s Day Family Fair
On May 3, Friends of the Farmingdale Public Library will be holding a “giant” Mother’s Day Family Fair, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Come buy a present for Mom or find just the thing you wanted for yourself or a family member. Long Island Roller Rebels
On May 3, come to Skate Safe, located at 182 Sweet Hollow Rd. in Bethpage, as the Long Island Roller Rebels take on the Jersey Shore Roller Girls. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door. Children under 8 are admitted free.

The next meeting of the Village of Farmingdale Board of Trustees will be held on May 5, at 8 p.m., inside village hall, located at 361 Main St. in Farmingdale.
Howitt Middle School Chorus
Chorus students at the Weldon E. Howitt Middle School in Farmingdale, located at 70 Van Cott Ave., will perform on May 5 at 7 p.m.
Free Veterinary Lecture
On May 5, Long Island Cat Fanciers, Inc., is offering a free veterinary lecture at the Woodbury-Syosset Community Center, at 7800 Jericho Tpke. in Woodbury. Stop in at 7:45 p.m. when the guest speaker Lynda Loudon, with the Nassau-Suffolk Animal Hospital in Farmingdale, will come by for a discussion on feline cystitis and urinary problems. Spring Plant Sale
Farmingdale State College’s Department of Ornamental Horticulture will be celebrating springtime, from May 6-May 8, with its 2014 plant sale.
Residents from Farmingdale and surrounding communities can stop by the campus greenhouses, between 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., rain or shine, to shop a wide variety of flowering annuals, Farmingdale-grown veggies, herbs, perennials, tropicals and house plants.
Woodward Junior Concert
On May 6, Woodward Parkway Elementary School’s junior band will put on two performances for students at 9:40 a.m. and again at 1:45 p.m.

On May 8, Farmingdale High School will hold a special ceremony, at 7 p.m. in the lecture hall, for students entering the Business Honor Society.

The next meeting of the Village of Farmingdale Zoning Board will be held on May 8, at 8 p.m., at Village Hall, located at 361 Main St. in Farmingdale.
DECA Year-End Dinner
On May 8, Farmingdale High School’s DECA competition team will hold their year-end dinner, at 5 p.m. in the Teachers’ Cafeteria.

Water System Flushing
Starting May 9, the Village of Farmingdale will be flushing water mains and fire hydrants throughout the village as part of its regular distribution system maintenance program. Flushing will begin at 10:30 p.m. on Friday and will be finished at approximately 6:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10. For additional information contact village hall at 516-249-0093.

Car Show
On May 10, rev up your engines for Farmingdale High School’s annual car show. The car show runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (rain date on May 17) outside the high school, located at 150 Lincoln St. in Farmingdale, It costs $5 to participate and trophies will be awarded for the best entries. Admission is free to the public and includes food, drinks, and live music.
