Buses To Replace Trains In Oyster Bay

LIRR

Buses will replace trains on the Oyster Bay branch of the LIRR for track work this weekend in the first of four weekend outages.

The LIRR says commuters should anticipate major delays over the weekends of  May 3-5, May 17-19, May 31-June 2 & June 14-16.

Buses will replace trains on the entire Oyster Bay Branch this coming weekend beginning early Saturday morning and ending early Monday morning as the Long Island Rail Road undertakes a major infrastructure improvement project – the installation of new concrete railroad ties between Locust Valley and Oyster Bay Stations over four weekends in May and June.

Train service on the Oyster Bay Branch will be suspended beginning this coming Saturday, May 3 at 12:40 AM with work continuing through the weekend until 3:30 AM on Monday, May 5.  Similar outages are scheduled for the weekends of May 17-19, May 31-June 2 and June 14-16
