Nassau County police identified the two victims who was shot and killed in Hempstead earlier this week as New Cassel men in their 20s.

Police said the two victim were sitting in a car in front of 105 Belmonte Parkway when they were approached by gunman who fired several shots into the vehicle, striking both victims at 1:11 p.m. Monday.

The first victim, 27-year-old Leonel Volcy was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, 20-year-old Yvenel Fede, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead an hour later.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
